I´m curious who are the best producers of CHAMBERTIN and CH.Clos de BEZE
(no Ruchottes-, Mazis-, Charmes- …etc. )
LEROY and ROUSSEAU are for me on TOP without a question, so I´ve simply left them out.
Sure most are proprietors, but I have listed also some negociants that are (regularily or not) bottling these GCs.
Most members will know that a Clos de Beze can be labelled as Chambertin, but not the other way round - so there are more of the former and less of the latter.
Gerhard – A couple that you are missing are Domaine Prieuré-Roch/Dr. Marion and Duroché for CdB.
Zibetti owns a fair amount of Cdb (0.46 ha), although I do not know who commercializes the wine/under what name the wine is commercialized as.
I think you’ve also missed Dugat-Py for Chambertin. Feuillat/Duband will have Chambertin in the future but do not have any vintages in the market.
Prieur occasionally produces CdB, but most vintages it is blended with the Chambertin.
Of course, if one is going back in time, there are many other negociants (most no longer existing, at least in anything other than name) who marketed one or both of the wines.
Interestingly, with a few votes in, Faiveley and Jadot Beze stickes out quite clearly, I voted them too - I think both producers do a fabulous job with that plot year in and year out. It shows that negociants can really be at the top of the game.
On the Chambertin, I was pleasantly surprised to see that quite a few of us voted for Trapet. JL Trapet I assume? I have always been very impressed with their bottlings of Le Chambertin, but we do not get much in Singapore.

YES, I had the Prieuré-Roch CdB in my mind before tyoing my list, but actually have forgotten about it to include … sorry.
Duroché is new to me.
Zibetti is showing up somewhere as proprietor, but I have never ever seen or heard about a bottle.
Yes, Dugat-Py is also a name I forgot to list eventually, the price seems to be extremely high, the quantity very low (a half cask ?) - but actually i have no idea HOW good it is. have you ever tasted one?
Feuillat/Duband is also new to me.
Although it wouldn´t be a bad thing to have a list of really ALL producers, the reason and eventual goal for me was to have an overview over the BEST (at least in the opinion of the folks here).
I´m thinking about preparing a Chambertin + CdBeze-tasting … after the Musigny in Dec and RSV in June 11 … and it will be impossible to include most producers …

If I´d listed Rousseau and Leroy I bet they would have been on the very top of the list (and if not it´s also no value for me)
What amuzes me more are the votes for

I ´ve seen also bottlings by L.Max and B.Gras (CdB) as well as by negociants from the earlier 20th century (Thorin, Regnier, Vandermeulen,Vienot …), but that doesn´t make sense for finding the best.
He indeed has a special cask made for the Chambertin, which is made in around 200 bottles per year (correct me if I’m wrong). I’m not sure how many of these are sold on the market, as I would imagine quite a few are kept in the family.
Ok, so Chambertin at Louis Remy is finished. Funny, because this September I stood in front of the Remy-estate - with a new sign on it: Chantal Remy-Rosier (if I remember correctly), I guess it´s the married doughter (grand doughter?) of Louis. But CHAMBERTIN GC was still mention on the sign.

No, Chambertin at Louis Rémy is not finished. Chantal Rémy’s two brothers sold their portions, but she continues, I guess with a new name for the estate that I was unaware of.
