central jersey ct offline group

a shout out to the central jersey ct offline group-

i haven’t posted here in a while. something brought me back, and i see that some of you are active here. looking forward to seeing you soon.

Yes we hang out here too. Maybe you can pick something interesting from my cellar for the 14th

I think we need to start working on a February or March date! -mJ

For the next one could be a sushi night if everyone is into that, just need the right place.

It’s a shame that it is such a haul for many, but Fuji in Haddonfield is off the hook! Literally! -mJ

Shumi in Somerville is very good

Taka in Asbury Park, NJ is the best sushi in central jersey that is BYOB. (Sushi by Kazu is out of the way for everyone in most of populated NJ).

We should do an off-line there or at Drew’s Bayshore Bistro. Best underrated restaurant in Central Jersey.

Though I don’t really consider Drew’s Central (we down here consider anything North of Princeton North Jersey - LOL) Jersey, I have to agree. Drew is a hell of a great guy, and his cuisine is delicious.

Taka is indeed good, and I used to frequent it when I was working at Fort Monmouth. Good place, but I still think that Fuji is on another level better than Taka. Though Taka does have some killer short ribs! Just my 2 yen… -mJ

Yes, and those north of 78 will call Drew’s South Jersey.

Somehow missed this thread earlier. We frequent Taka and it is a great place to enjoy some wine. Will look for another opportunity to participate in a ‘Central Jersey’ based event.

Mark - send me a PM and let me know when you worked at Ft. Monmouth.

One of the best I’ve been to in NJ. NJ is not the mecca for sushi places. So much better across the river.
