CellarTracker Suggestion Thread

One use case I haven’t seen described yet (and I admit, it’s probably an edge case) would be some type of capability to relocate bottles in a more automated fashion, similar to how today I can email a receipt to have it start a bulk import process.

The scenario is that once every couple months I’ll have wine delivered from my offsites (multiple locations in cellartracker) to my home. It’s not uncommon that when this occurs I’ll take delivery of 3-5 cases from 1-3 different locations, again, to my home.

The rub is that it’s usually 1-3 bottles of a given producer/bottling/vintage. So it could easily be 20 different wines that I have to manually relocate in CT, first from the offsite location, to a generic location at my house (usually called “floor”), where I then relocate them to their final destination (bonus points if we could somehow tag the final destination, though I often don’t know that until I’ve rearranged things further, which just parking them at “floor” works fine).

If there was a way to email/upload a PDF/spreadsheet that could handle the relocation in CT from offsite a single target location to my generic “floor” location, that would be amazing.

Before the new phone app (I use the android one) I would bring a tablet down to the cellar or a pad and pen to check in bottles (then transcribing at a PC). I find the app way easier to check in stuff as well as the inevitable moving things around when new bottles arrive.
