I am reposting here since I forgot…I know everyone said to use a high quality latex bathroom paint for the walls, but what about sheetrock prep? anything special?
HEY, post some of those pictures here too.
Tape, mud, sand, prime, paint. I’m not so sure you need the “bathroom” paint, but it can’t hurt.
Because of the humidity being a little higher, I used a Benjamin Moore oil based primer before I painted. Seemed to work well.
Good luck.
Sounds right on.

In my case, I put 2 coats of a high quality latex over the primer. An additional issue I had was working around an I beam along one of the walls. I stripped it and primed and painted with Rustoleum. In my community, the Sherwin Williams folks were very helpful.
I think you’re asking about green mdf or moisture resistent Sheetrock (which is sometimes green). Both are probably preferred than untreated products.
