Thanks, good to know. Definitely I would try another vintage if I get a chance.
I find them pretty consistent across style, its mostly PN, I think BO is Pinot Blanc. I find the style very similar across cuvees. I think some of the higher end cuvees are great, but I am unsure if they provide a 2x value to the val vilaine. I find the style pretty singular, which I think is why prices keep climbing. I always find the richness of the mousse and the palate energy my favorite parts. I haven’t drank these cuvees too regularly, so maybe someone with a lot of CB experience can chime in. All things equal I would drink maybe UR, but at the prices, VV is great.
Any thoughts on different vintages of
lahaiedebrune
I’m pretty sure only one vintage has been released, and that another one won’t be released for several more years
Thanks
I read something about weather influencing the vintages negatively but i didn’t know 2019 was the only released vintage
Any experience with the new BdN Creux de Enfer(21)?
I haven’t yet tasted nor offered the new releases yet.
I likely will at my visit in mid November, so can likely do so then.
Thanks Robert.
Given the speed these fly off the shelves I’ll just have to blindly buy, but it’s starting to hurt a little price wise.
Please give us some info and notes once you visit— I think we’ll all appreciate it.
For the 21 vintage: did they stop making the Rose with the Creux de Enfer plot and just made a BdN?
What about for 22? I got offered some Rose for 22, but wasn’t sure if that was a mistake and they will stop making rose and just BdN for the Creux de Enfer plot.
They will still make Creux Rosé but, as in the past, will decide whether to vinify the grapes as white or rose depending on vintage circumstances.
The new creux d’enfer plot should be vinified as a white every vintage.
There is both 2022 Blanc and Rose
Cedric expanded his holdings in Creux d’Enfer and the new plot is dedicated to the Blanc de Noirs which officially debuted in the 2021 vintage. No release of the 2021 Rose (to my knowledge). The Rose will continue to be made from the original plot that Cedric had. As mentioned, the conditions of each year and health of the grapes/vineyard will determine what is made and released. In many recent vintages, the Cote des Bar has been hit pretty hard and yields have been very small.
