Tonight’s dinner was pan-grilled catfish, seasoned with garlic, SI Spicy Seafood Seasoning, and Cajun Seasoniing; grilled in Meyer Lemon Olive Oil, and served with a lemon slice for Carollee, tartare sauce, and remoulade. Veggie was young cauliflower boiled in a mixture of milk and water seasoned with onion and caraway, and finished with coarse sea salt and butter. Wine was a 2004 Vieris Sauvignon, Friuli Isonzo, from Vie de Romans di Gallo - a lovely, light Sauvignon Blanc from Friuli; long cork, barely touched; light nose and flavors of white fruits; mid-palate of adequate acidity, none of the aggressive citrus, grapefruit notes of a lot of Sancerre - Pouilly Fumé; and a medium-long clean fruit finish. It was light but enjoyable with the catfish. It also went amazing well with the caraway’d cauliflower. Another delightful meal on a cool evening with a roaring fire in the fireplace.
