Hello everyone,
In the past, each of you has contacted me regarding the closure of Carolina Wine Co. here in Raleigh.
In an effort to keep you all informed, I am sending this e-mail to notify you that Carolina Wine Co. filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Friday.
I have written a story that appeared in today’s paper.

In addition to what is printed in the story, I thought I would pass on this piece of information since it obviously pertains to you:
At this point, the Attorney General’s office tells me it will not pursue legal action because the AG staff doesn’t want to further deplete the company’s limited financial resources any further (and prevent others from being able to recover what money there is). The AG’s office said it now will advise consumers try to file a “proof of claim form” with the bankruptcy court so that they can be listed as a creditor on the bankruptcy filing.
The case was filed in US Bankruptcy court in the Eastern District for NC http://www.nceb.uscourts.gov" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The name of the debtor on the filing is Carolina Wine Company, Inc.
As always, I appreciate any information in this matter you all want to pass on to me, especially if there are any legal suits filed or anything like that.
Thank you all very much.
Sue
