Carlisle question

What 06 Carlisle Zins are drinking good right now?

both dry creek and SC seem to be doing well, haven’t had any of the single vineyards yet.

The Montafi is quite ripe, maybe a bit too ripe, and probably ought to be drunk on the young side.

If I had any left I’d say SC but they’re all gone. [dance.gif]

Definitely the Montafi and the SC. Haven’t had the DCV yet and most of the other single vineyards could use some time

I haven’t tried all of them, but of the ones that I have tried the Pietros is drinking the best (in fact, quite well, but also not in a typical zin fashion); the Sonoma County zin is also quite good. The Baachi, which I have had a number of times, is good but not great, but I don’t see it really progressing much. I am with Bennett on the 2006 Montafi–I have had it twice and both times it reminded me of a Linne Calado (not a good thing in my book)–it will not be long lived with the RS that it has. There was a thread on a wine dinner that Bennett, Jordan and I attended with the Mike and several of these were tasted then, but you can get the gist of it from our comments here.
