But its not friday yet
it’s 5PM somewhere
Cameron, could you help me out with an ordering issue? I’m trying to consolidate three Lot 90’s with nine Lot 76’s. Support is implying that I need to pay full case shipping on both. We have sent a few emails back and forth. Thanks
General wine prep question here. In Cam’s latest email he talks about Lot 75 and suggests that, if you want to drink it now, you put a 24 hour decant on it. I’ve never decanted something more than a few hours before drinking it. I’ve double-decanted (decanted/aired and then re-bottled) for that period of time but I’ve never simply left it in the decanter for full access to air the entire time.
I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are on long-decanting a bold, young wine.
Cams version of a 24 hour decant is what you describe as a double decant - decant for a few hours, put back in bottle and recork, but drink it 24 hours later (not right away).
That used to be described on the dN website.
yep - thank you.
Cam- I sent an email to support@camxwine.com 3 days ago and no response. Again yesterday. Not urgent, but would appreciate a response.
Same here, but 7 days ago.
Same here. I got a reply after 2 days.
BUT I was asking IF they are able to ship several cases quickly during a one week cool window in the weather. The reply said they would ship without any guarantees, hopefully next week. Too late.
The nuance of shipping during cool weather got lost in translation. I said it was an inquiry about shipping, not a request to ship. Hopefully they won’t ship till the Fall now.
Cam’s customer service has been great, the AI interface: NOT.
The answer is that they are busy and unable to respond or ship quickly. Understandable. And understood.
Waiting for a confirmation.
Cam?
I think the lesson is try not to be too nuanced with timing.
I’m kind of a Ron Popeil type of guy as I bought many years from Garagiste where they have only two shipping windows each year. You can Cowboy Ship( authorize shipping outside of these windows). But all bets are off on actual execution of the request.
Apparently! Now I know.
Ron Popeil just entered the chat!!!

Getting all of Cam’s offers…….except for lot 100.
Just got a Cam x support email that my cases are now back on summer hold.
Much appreciated.
I’ve now totally divorced my purchases from de Négoce ‘house style’ wines for over a year because of their poor customer service which included shipping at their convenience, holding charges which they did not accommodate, and with no FedEx notices until the day before delivery arrival. In comparison, Cam X has been most accommodating for our 47+ orders and gift deliveries to friends in seven states. On one occasion, CX went way out of their way to get an order delivered to a rural setting in New Hampshire after UPS attempted three times to find the location. In another situation, the receiving party had to leave the country on an emergency family flight, but CX somehow got UPS to let an adult son living in a nearby town receive the order at an alternative UPS access point. Though some CX customer service responses have been questionably Ai generated, ~ eventually a staff member comes online with a bit more understanding to help out with my questions of delivery, combining orders or helping out with personal travel schedules.
Now I brace myself for returning from Bulgaria (yes, they produce interesting wines also) for the 10.5 new CX deliveries that will be awaiting me. Both my UPS deliveryman and wife have been forewarned of this wine onslaught.
The fall shipping season can certainly be a tumultuous and stressful time for wine loving families!
