yep…what happens when you taste and write-up wines at 4:30am in order to stand in Costco all day

apologies Glen - we had some sort of backend SKU configuration issue and a pallet of the wine went out to folks that didn’t buy it before we caught it. Insult upon injury, I know, but its what happened. Sorry again. Having said that, the Dry Creek and Yountville MB’s we recently released are fantastic options.

Don’t sweat it on my account, Cam. There’s a lot of wine in the world. But if you want to make it up to me, just make sure I’m on the receiving end of the next accidental pallet of $300 wine that goes out to people who didn’t buy it. :love_letter:

No worries, thanks for keeping us entertained amid the long hours. Can’t imagine what my palate skew would be like @4:30 AM…

Hope you left some Pinot there in store, they had been cleaned out for weeks. Convinced a woman there a week ago on some Chard for her lady’s group, so much wine sloshing around it’s hard to get people over the “try it” hump.

I can confirm that I was one of the ones who got a case of 22 I didn’t order. I sent mine back, but I suspect most of the pallet was just kept by the recipients. As a former 3PL owner I know the shitshow that is caused when you ship product to the wrong recipient.

Now it makes sense to me. I had ordered two cases of Lot 2 but received two cases of Lot 22. Cam’s website showed Lot 2 had been delivered. I had also ordered two cases of Lot 22, which showed not shipped.

In my case it all worked. I guess I was fortunate, as was CAM X, that I had actually ordered the same quantity of both and they were able to then ship out the Lot 2. Guessing the Lot 22 pallet somehow got incorrectly tagged as Lot 2.

In my ‘case’, Lot 5 Cab Sauv was substituted for my ordered Lot 4 Chardonnay. CX corrected this by stating that Lot 4 Chard would be sent the following week and I sent the Lot 5 back since I already had this selection sent to me earlier. CX offered to let me keep the extra Lot 5 case at a reduced price, but one case was enough for me at the time. CX provided the UPS tag for returning the incorrect case . On the other hand, like several of you, my two ordered/confirmed cases of Lot 22 Rutherford Malbec was ‘lost’ and I was issued a refund.

I think David is buying unwanted bottles for $5 each to wash his car.

I hear Lot 28 Gewurztraminer gives a better shine than Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc. Smells better, at least.

Are all the corks from cam x good for vertical storage? At least for like 3-4 years?
Newest wave of shipments has really strained my storage space and getting them out of the cardboard would help a lot. I remember cam confirmed some of the early lotd but wasn’t sure if the corks are the same.

Sure, but if you are worried about it I’d just store them upside down. Sediment could be an issue but not after just a few years in these wines.

I’m storing a bunch standing up. Diam corks are rated up to avoid failure up until their lifespan without any special care (10 years in the Cam X corks I have on hand)

Malvasia Bianca?!?

Uhhhhh

Has to be Ballentine, right? Who else grows this grape in St. Helena? This wine is totally in my wheelhouse but I’m still feeling burned by my half-case of flabby Lot 28 so for that reason, I am out on this one.

Seems like it.

Im all for a cheap wine but this isn’t the kind of perceived value I’m expecting from CamX… maybe that’s my problem lol.

What is the perceived value you are expecting?

Cam telling me I’m getting a $150 wine for $15 vs a $40 for $10.

WineSearcher is finding a certain Lola Wines Malvasia.

@Cameron_Hughes, can you comment on perceived acid levels on this Malvasia? Gewurtz is know to be low acid so I wasn’t too surprised there.

I thought about Lola, but they are located in Calistoga, and the offer states this is an estate wine. I suspect Lola bought the grapes from Ballentine’s “Betty Vineyard” where Ballentine claims to be the only grower of this grape in Napa Valley.
