Cool. Wonder if this is coming from Antinori?

Well, shucks…. What about Krupp Brothers Chardonnay?

“My understanding is we bought the entire 2023 bottling blend!” Have no idea if 165 cases is tranche 1 or not, but I think there’s a lot of wine being produced and most likely this is that Antica Vineyard portion of Stagecoach. I think Antinori isn’t likely correct because this isn’t 100% NFO, so could be Krupp. Master marketing playing on the Lot 4 FOMO, even if it’s nowhere near.

2022 Krupp was 60% NFO. Could be the Stagecoach version of this Chard:

Still can’t get over that Patland possibility….

There’s a lot of marketing leeway - could be juice from younger vines in the same vineyard that a winery left off their main bottling, considered for a more “junior” bottling but eventually offloaded to Cam.

That being said, it’s going to blow any chard under $25 out of the water so for $12.3 delivered I am in for a case to have around for the summer.

Looks like this is going to be a wine where guessing will come down to either or something that we don’t even know about that is new coming down the pipeline…a bit like Lot 4 was.

The OG Cameron Hughes brand had a few Atlas Peak Chardonnay bottlings from what I can find - maybe a repeat producer from back in the day?

Also found this above - $90, 33% NFC in 2022, and A18 block within Antica vineyard

“just as good as Lot 4, if not better” doesn’t help me. Is it that more restrained leaner version of chardonnay? With mango and papaya in the description I don’t think so. I’m sure it’s good, but if my average dinner guest would guess CA chard blind, I have no use for it.

Came to the same conclusion. They are moving in to a new facility so maybe removing some SKUs.

definitely restrained…the tropical fruit is elegantly rendered and very much in check/balance. Its fantastic Chard, promise.

in for a 6er.

I do believe you, I’m still loving dN lot 77 and its kin. Haven’t tried 4 yet, but very sorry I only bought 4. Thanks for the explanation.

Lot 1 back at T1 pricing

It was $117 shipped to my door when I got it last year from WineVIP, now it’s $150…. Just sayin’ those are different numbers… NEVERTHELESS I actually really like Lot 1. I had several bottles of Cam X over the holidays with family and it was the sneaky favorite (among 21, 20, 22, 16, notably none else of which are cab sauv). Good acidity, medium complexity, does not feel overdone with the oak. Best bottle yet of my 12, most of which are gone already.

Yeah, Cam got me excited to BUTT with the “very special pricing”, but I wasn’t anywhere close to the T1 price.

FYI, I tasted dN lot 241 against Meteor Perseid 2019. It’s the same wine. I realize this is the CamX thread but I think pointing out that some of our guesses were right is relevant here.

Though I’ve enjoyed the CX offerings of CS, CF, Chard, M, PN, S, Zin, Gewürz, Malbec, SB, Rosé, blends, even PS and a recent Gamay Noir, I still wish to see other unique California varietals as Tannat or possibly Carménère wines. Sure, maybe not a business-like popular endeavor; therefore, a wishful only thought on my part. / PS: I’ve cured myself of dNé Carignan offers.
