I have not seen anyone on the board reference this before, so here we go.
Anyone interested in California wine history should check out UC Berkley’s Bancroft Library’s Oral History Office.
The link below directs you to a page with dozens of the industries most well known names. I have read a good chunk of these interviews. Some of the real standouts IMHO are;Joe Hietz, Maynard A. Amerine, Albert Brounstein, Paul Draper, Chuch Wagner, Richard W. Formanm, Justin Meyer, and Joe Rochioli Jr. Not all interviews are published on this site. If you are in Healdsburg the local library has all the interviews published. Enjoy!
I’ve read most of them over the last few years. If you go to Archive.org you can download them in a variety of formats including Kindle. The formatting isn’t perfect but it makes it much more convenient for some to read. I think the Wente and the Christian Brothers ones are very good also.
