My wife and I are planning our first trip to Cabo at the end of the month. Staying at O and O for 6 nights. So a few questions. Are there shuttles available at the airport for transfer to the resort? Rent a car or taxi/uber to restaurants? We don’t want to have all meals at the resort and I have found the prior threads about restaurant recs. Any recommendations for day trips? My wife wants to go whale watching which I will forego due to terrible motion sickness. What else would you recommend for sightseeing/hiking? We’ve both always enjoyed the desert landscape and I am planning to bring camera gear.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Jim
We stay at the O&O.
- We have the hotel provide a transfer. Their cars and employees.
- We taxi off property into San Jose and environs for dinner. $20 per ride
- Lots of good dining nearby. Search the other threads. Our favorites: Lumbre, Carbon Cabron, La Lupita, Flora Farms, Suviche (on property), Choriarte, Don Sanchez. For touristic food, Jazmin is pretty good.
We never leave the property except for dinner.
The concierges are very helpful. guestexperience@oneandonlypalmilla.com
Thanks for the info. I had seen your dining recommendations in the older threads.

If you are into snorkeling and/or scuba diving, Cabo Pulmo is a must. It is one of the best dive sites in Mexico. It is a protected national park with restricted fishing, and as such, the fish population has thrived.
Todos Santos is also a nice day trip. You can do lunch at Oystera (which has amazing seafood) and then go to the Green Room to watch the sunset beachside along with drinks and bites.
Sharing my highlights on food as well (even as some of these may have already been mentioned). Manta at The Cape by Enrique Olvera is a must (the rooftop at The Cape is also worth visiting to watch the sunset or grab a drink). Cocina de Autor at the Grand Velas, if you are interested in an avant garde tasting menu experience. Cocina del Mar at Esperanza has an incredible setting and the food is quite good.
