I thought they had a total no BYO policy, but I was told when we were booking, it was $100. Before you get too excited, the glasses are horrible. I brought a couple of bottles, a lovely Leoville Las Cases 1985 and a corked Dominique Laurent. Only charged for the one bottle.
But the steaks, the steaks are far and away the best I have ever tasted. I am sure my Flanneries are of equal quality, so it’s the cooking. Buttery, tender, full flavored, perfect.
So lesson learned. Bring my own glasses, and a Durand.

I brought wine last year and I believe it was $50 corkage. Even at $100, I think it’s worth it instead of buying something off their list.
I’ve been going since 1986 and still am happy when someone makes a reservation.
I went to the Tribeca Wolfgang’s last weekend and they had no corkage and the steak had an enormous amount of salt on the crust. I usually am fine with Wolfgang’s but never again.
Interesting! I was there Monday and didnt even think about BYO as its always been verboten.
I think it had something to do with turning tables. Wine lovers tend to linger.
The place was absolutely packed at lunch, and I think I saw four or five tables with wine bottles.
It’s no Peter Pratt’s Inn

Mark, you are right. In the past, they never allowed corkage. Nice to see although I have no great desire to go again,
I think said the waiter they only had one decanter in the house. And as I said, the glasses were terrible.
But Paul, those steaks are the best I have ever had.
