A restaurant close to a facility that I will be travelling to has these DRCs on their list, and I know they appear to be fairly affordable. Anything stand out as a must buy?
Yeppers - the '88 Richebourg is better than the Tache IMHO. Nick is correct when he says that '91 RSV is drinking just fine now . The first one that jumped out at me was the '00 Richebourg though - I bet this would be a good choice also.
Also it depends on what you are looking for. If it’s big fruit and opulence then go with the 2000. The 88 Richebourg should have plenty of structure. The 91 RSV will be more ethereal and delicate. Relatively speaking.
I’ve had them a number of time’s, and they have never really been great. Still with quite a bit of of tannic structure and don’t really look ready yet.
Count me also as not being such a great fan of DRC’s '91’s either. They always seem quite rustic.
I’d go either the '00’s which are all drinking well, or the '06’s.
DRC made great '06’s, and these (welll the last one I had about 4 months ago anyway) haven’t shut down, and they are truly lovely wines.
