Oh man, the Peter Luger burger looks good. So do the fries! Interesting to hear their take on Shake Shack, though. That’s one of the places I’ve had on my “must try” list for my next visit to NYC (along with DiFara’s for pizza), and they say it’s completely overrated. And really, compared to the other pictures, it looks like a total loser of a burger!
I know it’s not part of this article, but I went to DB Bistro Moderne in April with the goal of trying the foie gras burger. It was excellent, but I thought it could have been even better had they left out the short rib meat. To me, that was overkill, and too much of a contrast in texture with a rare burger. The foie gras went perfectly with the rare meat.
The fries were some of the best I’ve had.
