Btw, you don't need to BE ITB to post in Cellar Rats!

I just realized how much Wine Berserkers has grown! Congrats to Todd and the moderation team!

Just to reiterate for all, and I think I can speak for all the producers and growers here, we welcome participation from everyone in this sub-forum, and we’d love to have more questions about production practices, techniques, etc. Even weird stuff like singing to your vines.

The sub-forums were started to give those of us ITB a place to discuss business practices and philosophy without, ahem … being accused of vile behavior like shilling and slander. [whistle.gif] And of course, if you find production and marketing topics boring, then you don’t need to see them, so organizationally it makes sense too. Plus, it’s a visible message to all ITB’ers that this board welcomes them and values their input.

So anyway, I just wanted to say, please come in and join our discussions whenever you like.

+1

ok, Mary … so, when you sing to vines, what songs do you prefer to sing? do you prefer tunes in 4/4 or 6/8? Is the lovely cadence of iambic pentameter truly appreciated by our grape-yielding plant friends? neener

Serge, are you getting soft on me? (Oh cripes, I have to watch what I say to you, don’t I?)

Brian, I don’t sing to any living thing that could possibly hear me … at the other end of the spectrum, we’ve got guys like Frank Nerelli who actually carries on conversations with his vines while he’s pruning … he’ll tell them how they’re looking, what he thinks they need, what he’s going to do and why, and if they’re being magnificent, difficult or stubborn.

Yowza ! My second career: vine psychiatrist ! We’re in the money [thumbs-up.gif]

If you are going to continue to bash RP, at least get the attribution correct. It was Squires who did that, not RP…

Anyway, YES, you don’t have to be ITB to post here, or Wine Pimps!! That’s part of the beauty of this forum is the open exchange of information between makers, retailers, and consumers!

I’m not YET ITB, but we are working towards it. People have in general been very helpful and responsive. Any business that can get unfiltered feedback on its product would be unlikely to refuse it.
