I’m planning to open a 2010 Spanish Tempranillo for dinner this evening… I’m a little worried its past it’s peak and I want to enjoy this bottle.
Would you decant? If so, for how long?
Thanks

What exactly is it? Big range of Tempranillo from Tinto Joven to Gran Reserva and from region to region.
I wouldn’t say a nice Rioja, even a Crianza, is past peak. At the GR level it would still be young. Good Rioja may have an indefinite shelf life. In any event, probably no need to decant.
Malleolus de Valderramiro (Ribera del Duero, Spain)
Haven’t had that. My guess is it’s still in good shape and probably in a pretty good place. Could show a good bit of oak. A decant might not hurt to let some fruit open up and push back on the oak.
Father’s Day seems like a perfect chance to pop it open… Filet Mignon
