I don’t think I mentioned that my son actually joined us for the dinner, he flew in for the long weekend. I asked him last night which wine he liked the most and he said “the one in the big bottle”. That would be the 2007 Clape. He definitely loved the Pichon Baron as well, but he commented that he had never had a wine like the Clape and its unique flavor profile. While he may be a knucklehead, perhaps some of my teachings are working.

If I say that in 8 years (and then 3 years later) I’ll be double-happy. Well done sir. There is no greater accomplishment than making sure our kids are proper adults, in all that it means.
