Kevin,
Good to have you back in town. This should be fun!
Kevin,
Good to have you back in town. This should be fun!
So assuming Zach is in, we’re currently full so I started a wait list if others are interested. Does 6 or 630pm work for everyone on the 20th?
Peter, coming from the west, 6:30 would be better for me in case of crazy traffic.
Am heading to NYC this weekend and have my spies there scouting some sources. So far, spies have found:
a 1997 Magnum (that’s all the info I got, sorry – don’t know anything else)
a 1998 Magnum (same – no other info).
The 1997 and 1998 would be cool to try for sure, but maybe too much champ for the size of the group?
I don’t want to duplicate what others are bringing, so I will be on the hunt and will report when I get back into town.
Whoops, just re-read the top post and realized that we already have a 2002 Coeur de Cuvee, so taking that out of the list.
The 1997 Coeur is very good for the vintage, if that’s the wine your spies found. A magnum should get polished off, you can always take home whatever isn’t drained, or share it with the kitchen.
Anytime is OK with me - I’ll claim (falsely) to be a gentleman, a man of leisure
yes, the 2005 Grand Cellier d’Or
BTW, the Hebrart NV Rose rocked last night, delicate with light red fruits on the nose and super creamy on the palate while being light but not too light. Strawberries, minerals, sweet yet perfectly balanced. Got bigger and more minerally while it warmed. 93 points and I was feeling stingy.
Blew away the Paul Bara NV Rose (which was also excellent) and the 2004 Drappier (anyone else get Bananas from Drappier?)
6:30 would work better for me as well.
Chris said 6pm is better for him, so if folks don’t think that works we can try another night. Let me know.
That’s fine with me. I will just leave the office earlier.
6:00 will work for me. I just have to get a head start on the traffic.
I can’t do better than on the fence at this point - don’t worry about saving my spot as I can’t let you know yet
Sounds good all. I’ve asked Chris if we can use white wine/burgundy/bordeaux glasses as opposed to flutes. Whatever’s easier, any glass is better than a flute IMO.
Works for me!
Works for me too
Any luck on sourcing wines Carrie or Gus?
I think the 06 Grand Cellier d’Or was recently released and the 04 should still be floating around. I also bet you can dig up a 98 Cuvee Creation or Coeur de Cuvee.
If you don’t have WS Pro I’m happy to help troll for available bottles.
Just got to NYC tonight and saw How to Succeed (lots of love in the audience for Darren Criss). Will be shopping tomorrow for the Vilmart so will let you know Friday.
Score! 1998 Cuvee Creation Magnum.
Cool - will be fun to try a vertical of Creation.
24 hour bump - see everyone tomorrow.
See everyone tonight!
