Bordeaux: Compare/Contrast 2009 and 2010

While there are some 2010’s I clearly liked better than what was produced in 2009, across the board, I vastly preferred 2009, especially in Pomerol. With the exception of Vieux Chateau Certan, I think every Pomerol was better in 2009.

The styles of these vintages are very different. 2009 is much more sensuous, while 2010 is more structured, tannic and higher in acidity.

Day 2/3 the Lanessan was a little more harmonious, but I’m still concern with the fruit/tannin balance. I’ve only been drinking bdx 5-6yrs, so I’m certainly no expert on projection, but this is quite dry and coarse on the backend. Unlike the '05 petit’s I had several yrs ago which were sweeter. Neal, have you had this one? Curious if there’s something there that makes you think it will age better. I can always learn from the more experienced bdx drinkers.
