The only one I backfilled explicitly in response to the 2022 pricing was La Conseillante; I bought some more 2020 on the release day of the 2022. I did buy some more 2020 Montrose on the anticipation that the price of the 2022 would be higher than it turned out to be. Given the apparent quality of the 2020 Montrose, it probably wasn’t a mistake, even if my estimate of the 2022 price was erroneous.
Insane! 2022 is $325 the others are between $300 - $350/bottle USD
2010, 2016 and 2019.
Thanks for that. Looks like a fantastic suggestion. Got a case of 6.
2005 and 2014.
Haven’t had 2005 but 2014 is really good. Great for drinking now+.
For me the wine of the vintage.
I am envious!
Who made decent red wine in 2013 that’s worth buying today?
That wasn’t the question. The poster wanted wines with red character, and that’s a characteristic you find in 2013.
It was a genuine question to you if you know of any?
It wasn’t a “lol 2013 sucks” comment.
Sauternes
Red?

Sorry I misread you. Honestly, 2013 is a superb vintage for white Bordeaux wine, sweet and dry. At 10 years of age, most reds are past their prime so, if you’re really needing a red, you’re better off with some of the more pricey wines. Cos d’Estournel, Pape Clement, Eglise Clinet. Since bottling I seldom see them. Though a bottle of 2013 Clinet was not too bad.
I re-read my message and I misread myself as well.
I thought it’s an interesting example of the “first growth premium” mentioned above, as even though my understanding is 2013 FGs are very mediocre wines, the cheapest ones in WS are still close to $500.
I might buy a Cos just to complete a vertical. It’d be interesting to drink it next to a 14.
I have a bit more time for you this morning. These all trend to the red fruit side. There are others, but it’s a good place to start.

Looks like a list of what I buy!

La Louviere
I haven’t had it in a long time but I’d like to put in a good word for their white, which I loved

Branaire Ducru
Thanks Jeff.
