Books about Burgundy in English

Hi,

Im trying to collect every book I can about burgundy wine written in english. Please list any here that you can. I’m trying to come up with a complete bibliography.

Thanks!

Get a copy of James Gabler’s Wine Into Words, a bibliography of wine books. That ought to be about as complete a listing as you can find. If you’re just looking for reading material, I’d recommend
Matt Kramer - Making Sense of Burgundy
Eunice Fried - Burgundy
Richard Olney - Romanee-Conti
Remington Norman - The Great Domaines of Burgundy
Hubrecht Duijker - The Great Wines of Burgundy
Robert Parker - Burgundy (really!)
Anthony Hanson - Burgundy
Jacky Rigaux - Terroir & the Winegrower
Andrew Jefford - The New France

Wines of Burgundy- Clive Coates (kind of a newer edition, of the book below)
Cote d’Or - Coates

I have Clive Coates’s book but I see Some Wun has already mentioned it.

Good luck, Burgundy is a tangled web that is hard to understand.

Best books are en français.

How did that homework assignment go?

Enough said!

Good list so far, can’t think of anything to add. One book I’d love to see in English is Lavalle’s History and Statistics of the Cote d’Or from 1855, which Ray Walker wrote about recently on his blog. He found an old copy in French, but I don’t read French. Anybody know if it was ever translated? http://blog.maison-ilan.com/2009/10/23/the-works-of-jules-lavalle/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There’s a part about Burgundy in Kermit Lynch’s book (Adventures on the Wine Road?)

For my money, Remington Norman is the best of the ones I’ve seen.

I havnt read it yet. I will though. Thank you.

Thanks everyone

Any list you might offer?
