Booker Release

Surprised no mention at all-this list dropping must be real…I know I am in that camp, not dropping but drastically cutting back on my purchases this year…Anyone have insight into the latest Booker wines?

I bought one of each. I love these wines but trying to cut back on purchases. Usually buy cases.

No insight into the 2010s, but I had the 09 Oublie, Alchemist, and White in the last few months. Didn’t take detailed notes on the Alchemist, I remember I did enjoy it, but we just had the Oublie and White for Superbowl, so those are pretty recent. The Oublie was quite good, somewhat different with a Grenache, Counoise, and Mourvedre blend, so it was lighter fruit flavors and aromas than a GSM…I kept thinking of strawberries now and then. The White was good as well, didn’t blow my socks off, but nicely balanced and easy drinking.

I’m just doing the 6 pack Club shipment…

I am most interested in the 100% Grenache - anybody had it before ?

I’m part of the 6 pack Club shipment as well. I have tried a couple from last year’s release, with some mixed results. I am intrigued for more, but will see how the next couple bottles taste to determine purchases beyond this current one. I really enjoyed the 2009 Tempranillo I had a couple weeks back.

I believe their notes say that many of the 2010’s are more approachable upon release, so I’ll be interested to see notes from anyone popping them early.

How much are these wines btw?

I would like to purchase but the 6 bottle minimum bugs me especially since I have never tasted the wines before.

Prices ticked up $5 this year it seems…these are the wines in the shipment this year:

Oublie 2010 $60
Remnant 2010 $50
Vertigo 2010 $60
Ripper 2010 $65
Alchemist 2010 $60
Tempranillo 2010 $60

Last years shipment was:

2009 White $45 (1)
2009 Fracture $55 (1)
2009 Alchemist $55 (2)
2009 Vertigo $55 (1)
2009 Tempranillo $55 (1)

I haven’t had Booker’s Grenache yet, but on a slightly different note I did just get the spring Tor release email and they have a 100% Grenache for $40. Half of the grapes come from Paso, the other half from Bennett valley in Sonoma.

Not sure if I’ll try that or not, but might have to for the price…

Thanks Berg!
