a mature bottle of rougeard breze always seems to evoke a 25 year old meursault with great freshness
The greatest ringer ever for me was when Kirk.Grant threw in an orangey white:
Orange-amber in the glass. This wine had been decanted for about 5 hrs. I’d picked up strong whiffs of bacon in the decanter, but the bacon was much subdued now in the glass. Nose: Pink starburst, bubblegum, bacon, strongly reminiscent of lambic ales. In the mouth… way different from the nose. Earthy, stinky, very lambic-like.
Oxidation and impressions of toasty oak. A few people guessed White Rioja
9-year-old Bartlett Pear reserve (the '01, aged in French oak).
Put an old (98?) mayacamas chard into a white burg tasting, had almost everyone fooled. Although at least same grape…
90s Togni has been called Bordeaux at many a blind tasting.
