I think it’s great! BV is a great story, that would be appealing to the masses if told correctly.
Agreed. Hopefully it’ll be more of a “Sideways” than a “Bottleshock”.
The Variety article says it’ll be “loosely based” on the book. I can just imagine what they’re gonna add to “sex it up”…
Will Smith and his producing partner James Lassiter are the ones who optioned the property and are producing this. Hopefully it gets off the ground soon.
That was my first thought. I wonder when the real adaptation of the Judgment Of Paris is coming out.
James Lassiter is a super wine geek, so I’ve read. He also has a penchant for Squire-type shirts.
At least a year, unfortunately. They haven’t even started pre-production yet.

Wow, no kidding? Last I had heard this was due out sometime this year. Bummer. Taber warned us that there would be two versions when we had dinner with him. I’m anxious for the other one.
Harvey Fierstein as Rodenstock?

Yeah, they needed to wait a while after the other one came out to distance themselves. They are still looking for a director, so it could be a while.
I emailed Banjamin Wallace for a role in the movie…he says that he has not been involved in casting…oh well…
With your movie star looks he’d be a fool not to push for you. [laughingneqw.gif]

It’ll take some good screenwriting to make a story out of it instead of a collection of scenes. I’m looking forward to the Mouton scene, the Forbes exhibit and some of the epic tastings.
