I think so. Some of the guys on the board who have visited with Ketan have tasted this. Maybe @Rohit_B or @Zachary_Mancini?
Seems like they must be adjacent blocks or vineyards. Hardy mentioned Beta getting wine from there too. Both farmed by Bill Brosseau. I donāt think we know much technical details at this point. Not sure if Hardy would weigh in on the vineyard details.
I was able to try the 22 black ridge when i visited a few weeks ago. Tbh i had it right before the jasuds and ketan had us throw it out to taste the jasuds so my exact notes are a bit fuzzy. From what i remember, itās solid. Red fruited and some decent tannin structure, but not as tannic as montecillo. Some coolness to it. Im definitely a buyer.

For those familiar with Beta, does a save the date email imply an allocation? Or is it an email sent to all, including those on the waitlist?
Emails probably go to all AFWEs, since I just signed up too.
Thanks! I thought I read that there will be 6 Beta cabs for '22. This implies that the spring release will be Lupina, Paratus and ??? If the Black Ridge is the Marianaās, what is the 6th? Is there still a Hamilton or is the Black Ridge different than Marianaās?

No. He no longer gets fruit from Vare. The story I heard was he wouldnāt rename the vineyard to who ever bought it and doesnāt get the fruit any longer.
It is likely Hamilton still. I havenāt had any 22 Betas so it could be something else but definitely not Vare.

I think hamilton flooded a few years back. Also is black ridge considered santa cruz mountains? If not, then i probably didnt have the black ridge. We tasted a 22 SCM.

Iām sure this has been asked butā¦ buying beta gets you on Jasud list? Or whats the relationship. Is Jasud even possible for someone who is not already in?
So thereās plenty of room for more people to be added moving from 150 cases to 1200 some day. That said, I have no idea how many he already has on the Beta list that would be ahead of someone added today.
Opened 2021 Beta Paratus a couple weeks ago and blinded team at Chambers on it. Was great.
Night one
cedar box and flowers. Tightly wound core with Watcher in the Water energy ~ exciting, but also intimidating.
Night two
Opened up immensely to something powerful, but knowable and structured.
Pascalineās call was 5 old American Cab from someone ābraveā who was trying to make wine in the style of the 70s and 80s.

Sounds like trying to chase a style that doesnāt necessarily exist anymore. Not to say itās better or worse, but thatās interested to hear someone from Chambers St comment on that.
