Best red Burgs for 2019

Probably a couple of lessor year La Tâche that I had low expectations of. Both wonderfully ethereal and engaging.

1948 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche
1956 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche (Magnum)

1981 La Tâche, which a few folks on WB shared last year, is among the best Red Burgs I’ve ever had. Ethereal, engaging, and completely unexpected depth. And it kept getting better and better with air.

2008 Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanee. Not bought on release as didn’t start drinking burgundy at all until a few years later, but this bottle made me very happy that I’ve been buying and cellaring M-G and other good producers, even at the “lowly” village level, for the past few years.

2010 Rossignol Trapet Latricieres Chambertin
2005 Mugneret Gibourg NSG Chaignots
2015 Liger Belair Clos du Chateau
2015 Bruno Clair Champs Perdrix

2008 C Liger-Belair Aux Reignots 18
2007 Dujac Echezeaux 18-18.5
1996 Rousseau Chambertin (not my bottle, see above, but did get to try some) 19

Because some of us are unlikely to be around in 2043 and most of us will not be around in 2068. [snort.gif]
