I didn’t read through this thread but if you are going to purchase a good amount of wines, pick a reliable shop near you to get cheaper shipping cost.
They didn’t deliver on some of my 1990s and did not pay me then FMV for the wines they didn’t deliver. In other words, they delivered on the wines that had not gone up in price but only offered 1 1/2 times what I paid for wines like Montrose that had soared in price (and I only got that much if I took a store credit).
On more recent wines, I don’t find them as good as MacArthurs in letting me know when wines are in (do note that I don’t buy Bordeaux futures much anymore and I have never again bought that much from CW (not just for this reason - I don’t find most of the people there to be terribly friendly compared with other stores (big exception is Ben Gilberti who I really like) so there are not too many of these incidences).
