Rene Rostaing has an estate in the Languedoc - Puech Noble - which has some very good, serious syrah driven wines. However they are hard to find stateside, and the name often gets confused with other estates which make wines of a wildly different style. They are also priced higher than AOC norms - justifiably - but that can be tough sell to those who don’t know the background.
As of a few years ago, Crabtree’s Kittle House in Chappaqua NY still had some older Peyre Rose on the list. I don’t remember the wine or vintage, but it was outstanding for not much over $100. I’m guessing it isn’t flying off the list, could still be there and a great introduction to a great wine at a very fair price.
