Best American Sparkler? I vote for J Schram

I’m not really a fan of any American sparklers. My preference for taste and value is Spanish Cava. Great prices and a lot of variety. I don’t want to diss American producers like Marcus whose wines I love and own a bunch of. Just can’t get into any of the sparklers from CA or OR.

You had my attention at Spanish Cava. Gimme three I need to seek out and try!

As @David_Bu3ker mentioned, Pere Mata is one.

Raventos and Avinyo always reliable.

Add Recaredo ($$) and Llopart ($).

Cava is a good value and there are a lot of great examples, but they don’t scratch the Champagne itch for me when they use something other than the 3 common Champagne grapes.

Thanks @Pat_Esposito! Lining up our next disgorgement for 2025 releases. 4 wines are in the queue, including a magnum only cuvee…

@Marcus_Goodfellow right back at you. The duo making top QPR in the valley for sparkling.

Thank you @jjarosz! Mentioned in a reply to Pat, but look out this year for 4 more cuvee releases. :sunglasses:

Pinnacle Ridge in Pennsylvania (no longer in existence, but we’ve got about a case left) made a few bubbles we enjoyed. To your point, they tasted more like ripe Chardonnay and Pinot Noir done in a sparkling style than “champagne like”. But we liked them for that.

not to overwhelm the Goodfellow love here (something I’d happily do) but my previous favorite was J Schram rose, now it’s #3 behind the first disgorgements of Goodfellow Durant and Whistling Ridge (#1 and #2 respectively)

If there is a sparkling rose in the works at Goodfellow they might have a hat trick on their hands…

I purchased some Goodfellow sparklers on berserkerday- looking forward to giving them a try.
