Keith,
Should we do Barolo table or should we mix and match?
Here are some of the things I was thinking of:
- I’ve got some old Gattinaras coming whenever winebid ships though I’m not sure they’ll be here with enough time to settle. '79 and '82 Antoniolo and '74 Travaglini.
- Looking over my Piedmont stash, the '98s seem like the vintage that may be most worthwhile to check in on now? I have B. Mascarello, G. Conterno, both Cappellanos, and Giacosa Gallina.
- Could do some '97-'99 zone Brunellos too but I’m not sure those are worth opening yet.
- Whatever else I bring, I’ll also bring a '99 Valentini Trebbiano cuz I’m really curious how that one’s doing these days.
Thoughts?
Keith,
All of this are mouth watering to me, so I guess we can stick with Piemonte theme.
I almost forgot! I also have some Vallanna Spanna c. '58 - '67.
01 B.Mascarello
95 Roagna Barolo Rocca e la Pira
98 Giacosa Falleto (not sure if I still have any of the Rocche)
I also may have a bottle left of the Roagna Chardonnay/Nebbiolo
Think that about sums up my personal piedmont stash.
I’ll leave the 3L of 95 Pergole Torte at home then. Would probably be a pain in the ass to get over there
Ah, so you’re (at least of the people who) outbid me on that.
Is there room at this cool kids table for me? I might have some Eye-talian wine!
I may have another 1985 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà mag like the one I brought last time. That seemed to go over well.
I could also bring some Sciacchetrà or some Forteto della Luja for dessert.

That’s a great choice!

Did you get any of them? I only picked up the one.
Been thinking about this tonight: Would be nice to have some place like convivio or what have you try to do a dinner around the large format bottle. One wine, few courses, group of people.

Sounds good to me, I have few of those!

Let’s compromise. Start your own table, but give that bottle to our table! ![]()
we need 3 more for the table.
Room for 1 more? Ive got scattered Piedmonts from 70s and 80s, and plenty from 1996. If this is still a general Italian table I could also bring a Bea or Montevertine from the 80s. I’d probably do 2 reds and a white/bubbly (does latter have to be on theme?).

Great Dale!!! It looks like We’ll probably do Piemontese.

Don’t be shy about bringing a Bea from the 80s!!! ![]()
sorry, Ken, brainfart on my end, meant Pepe from 80s.
