Berserkerfest 1.5 Part 2--Suburbia

When I have my notes put together I will post them here but let me start with a bit of a social post and say a big Thank You to Leo Frokic and his wife Connie for a fantastic meal and wines last night as well as a comfy fouton to crash on! We had a pretty full cast of characters and there were some utterly fantastic wines.

An abbreviated list

1995 Phelps Insignia 1.5L
1996 Beringer PR Cab 1.5L
1996 Fisher Cab Herb Lamb 1.5L
2003 Pegau CDP 1.5L
2003 Duhart-Milon 1.5L
1995 Jadot Puligny Montrachet Les Referts
1999 Taittinger 1.5L
2007 Pichler GV something good
and for the late night crowd…
1998 Ornellaia WOTN
1996 Margaux
2000 Silvio Nardi Brunello Monarchia
1988 Sassicaia
1989 Cos d’Estournel

and many more that I remember tasting but whose names now escape me!

It was great to meet our fearless leader Todd and Fr. Saxon as well as Veronica Castro, and see so many friendly familiar faces that I have not seen in some time.

Lots of big bottles for the big boys & gals. Looking forward to the notes and color commentary.

Brent, here are a couple of more from memory:

2001 Trevallon- VDP Bouches de Rhones
2003 Sassicaia
2006 Clos des Papes
2007 Prager- Riesling Federspiel, Steinriegel
2007 Rudi Pichler- Gruner Veltliner Smaragd, Kollmutz

I think there were some more California wines, as well.

Btw, Todd said I should post pics on the board. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

It’s interesting to see how Old World dominated… for many of us here in CA (Frenchie included), many of our OLs (too many, in my view) are dominated by young CA wines… Great selection of wines…I have some kind of envy welling up in me.
