BerserkerDay TN: 2010 Congruence Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley)

  • 2010 Congruence Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/5/2014)
This is a Napa Cab lover’s wine - rich, full bodied, black and red fruits, silky with some weight, and a solid, long finish. A bit on the hedonistic side, but all in balance, with a strong tannic structure well supported by lush fruit. In a fantastic space right now. Great stuff, Steve!

Thanks, Todd. I’m always pleased when my wines please. flirtysmile

Well, it very much pleased the boss - she loved it…but she thought it was a different price, at said price I said I’d have bought several cases [wow.gif]

It will be hard not to open mine when they arrive. Also, that label is fantastic.

People either love or hate the label, it’s kind of funny. When I designed it, I didn’t anticipate such polarization. You should feel just fine about opening the wines when you get them. [cheers.gif]

Count me as one who does not love the label. It does not do the wine justice.

OK, Thanks Todd! Now your making me regret not buying some. Super, just Super! [truce.gif]

Seems like I need to revisit the '10.

The is the point of posting BD tasting notes, to fill with inconsolable guilt those who did not buy and to fill with joyful anticipation those who did. [cheers.gif]

Precisely.

Well, I had to bite the bullet. Contacted them to place an order. Thanks a lot guys! You bunch of enablers you. [worship.gif]

The Berserkerday offer code still works on the website. $10 off per bottle and free shipping. May want to ping him before doing it in case it’s just an oversight.

Even without the Berserker Day discount, I think it’s still a good deal. flirtysmile

I decided to pop one of these tonight with some ny strips and huge asparagus. I think this wine has improved and come together since my last expirence 6 months ago. I like the cooler minty profile on the nose. Ample fruit, tannin, and acidity on the palate, it’s all there. I agree with Todd and his boss. Great qpr, nice work Steve!

I’m not really one to post a tasting note, but I do want to pile on. I bought a 3 pack on BD and opened one up tonight based on this thread. This wine is really right in my wheelhouse. Classic cigar and leather on the nose and the full cab experience on the palate. Close cousin to the cab style I enjoy in Mike Smith and TRB wines. My wife and I polished off the bottle without even noticing. I went back to the website and had another 3 pack in my cart before I decided to back off and see what budget remains after Quivet, Ceritas and Bedrock. I’ll likely be back for more though, this is a great cab. [thumbs-up.gif]
