Bern's: Just can't beat it!

Our wine tasting group of 16 made a field trip to Bern’s this past weekend. Asked Brad Dixon to pick out wines from France for us to drink blind and he selected:

1985 Hermitage (can’t recall name daggummit) X 3 bottles
2003 Domaine de Beaurnard Savennieres X 3 bottles
1976 Louis Latour “Corton-Grancey” X 2 magnums
1967 St. Pierre Chat du Pape X 2 magnums
1961 Ch. Carbonnieux X 2 magnums
1961 Ch. Troplong Mondot X 2 magnums

Total cost of wine per person, incl tax and gratuity…$176. An absolute steal considering the quality, age, and impeccable provenance of the wines…not too mention the expert service.

As my compatriot put it so crudely, “a visit to Bern’s for any wine lover is like a trip to a day-care center for Michael Jackson” [wow.gif]

You owe it to yourself to make a pilgrimmage to this wine Mecca!

Sounds great. Notes?

That was the cost of wine per person? How many people? For wines like that, I would expect to pay a lots more unless you had 30 people with you. [snort.gif]

So much for the first rule of Bern’s…
Thanks.

Not yet recovered from the visit to the upstairs Dessert Room or the after-party back at the hotel…both were Long Island Ice Teas (a bad decision in a glass [cry.gif] )

Reading comprehension is sorely overrated anyway. [help.gif]

That’s why ya gotta go! [cheers.gif]

Oh wait…I guess I did violate the first rule of Bern’s…ignore all previous posts.

Did you not get the talk about NOT posting???

Well Brad Pitt didn’t say anything to me. Now if Angelina said not to post, well… flirtysmile
