Beating the same ol drum 2010 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières

Another great 2010 PYCM. His Meursaults are something special. I’ve regretfully gone through three btls of this already. Someone needs to hide the rest from me somewhere.

velvety, bright, soft on the palate with all kinds of citrus and just lingering acidity. The thing that’s really compelling about this wine is just how precise the flavors are. It just shoots straight down the palate and the intensity on the palate is lifted even more by the copious amounts of slate and mineralty as the flavors just go on and on and linger on the palate. There is so much brightness and electricity in the wine but is balanced enough that it doesn’t overwhelm the fruit. Another great 2010 PYCM.

I’ve found the PYCM wines to be lacking when young, thin, and no depth…but as they age, they become really great.

I think that rings true for their wines pre 2008, but I felt they’ve really ramped up in the last few vintages, especially 2010. All the 1er’s I’ve opened in 2010 have been wide open.
