Bartholomew Park winery?

I’m visiting a client in Novato and they are taking a group of their people to visit Bartholomew Park winery which is a little northeast of Sonoma (town). I can’t find much on them on the wine boards or on CT. Anyone have any thoughts on their wines if I decide to tag along with the group this afternoon?

Thanks

Craig

My recollection is that the wines wer not good. There is a lot of history in the building, but the wines were forgettable.

I was gifted one of their cabs a year or so ago and remember that it was very below average.

Bart Pk is a local’s haven. I taste there ~1/yr. I seem to remember a library cab that I enjoyed during my last visit. We go for the park (next to the winery) and trails. In Sonoma it’s legal to drink in the parks (the locals think it’s mandatory). And who doesn’t love the history and spirit of the wild, pioneer Count Haraszthy, or the fact that it was once a nudist colony…so much lore!

worth a trip for the park as stated, and the hiking trails that run along the creek in front of buena vista winery… but this time of year, maybe not as much especially if its raining and muddy.

Sounds like the park is the actual attraction…but you should BYOB.

I went…and regretted that I wasted some of my daily wine consumption limit there. The Sauv Blanc was OK, if sort of plain. THe reds were uniformly underripe and uninteresting. An easy pass. They had a little museum that newbies might find interesting, and that is probably their main market being near the square in Sonoma (no intended slight to Sojourn here). The park did look nice, although I didn’t make it out there. Should have listened to the mighty oracle of the board…

Bud Carey??

Thank you… thank you very much!!! [wink.gif] [wink.gif]
