Count me in for Baltimore for sure and perhaps DC as well.
Matt –
I’d love to help plan the next DC offline, if you need any assistance. Should we start a new threat?
Speaking of Maria Denton (GM/Wine Pro at Ruth’s Chris), her husband (David Denton) is the som at Charlie Palmer’s. So that’s another good option. I’m sure he’d take care of us.
As for a theme, all sorts of ideas come to mind. Maybe Cali reds with 25+ years? Alternatively, I know some DC berserkers recently did a 90s Napa Cab tasting… how about an 80s Napa Cab tasting? Or a “wines of the sonoma coast” evening? Or an infanticide-themed meal – assessing the progress of '07 Napa Cabs. (I suppose I have a California palate…)
The 90s Napa Cab dinner actually was at Charlie Palmer. IIRC, many people were not pleased with the service. Having done that dinner, Dominus at Ruth’s Chris, a '99 Napa horizontal at Equinox, and the CA Barrel Tasting recently, I think I’ve got a bit of Napa fatigue, so I’d be up for something different. I like the Sonoma Coast idea – we could do a Chard flight and a couple of flights of both Pinot and Syrah. Could be a nice variety.
Dave (L) - Sorry for any part I played in your original thread getting fragmented. You’re right we need to separate these two - I am very interested in a Baltimore event and will also start a DC thread in a minute for whomever wants to join. Dave - would welcome the assistance…
Thread drift was totally my fault. Sorry to the OP, David L. ![]()
If it is a weekend evening I could come down for this.
Friday or Saturday would be easier for me as well, but then I don’t have to drive down from NYC. If you need a guest room, we have one with your name on the door.
I will be out in Seattle that weekend to watch the phillies. If dates are moved around, I will attend if I’m not traveling!
Anybody else interested, PM me. We’re looking like Friday June 17.
David,
I sent a PM
