The Next Level in Single Vineyard Wine Tasting
A one of a kind Russian River Valley wine event gives the public a unique opportunity to taste several producers from one vineyard.
Longtime Russian River Valley grape growing family, The Bacigalupi’s will host a one of a kind wine event that will give consumers a never before experience tasting single vineyard wines.
The family has invited nine wineries (including their own brand John Tyler) to pour only Bacigalupi Vineyard designate wines together in one event. Over the past 55 years the family has sold too many top tier, cult wineries and has chosen a select few to take part in this limited tasting. Participants include a range of wineries from well-known, high end producers such as Williams Selyem and Rudd Winery out of Napa, to smaller brands just bursting onto the scene including Fourth Estate and Gracianna.
The event will take place July 14th, 2012 from 11:00p.m- 4:00p.m at the tasting room located on one of the Bacigalupi’s vineyards. The concept for the tasting was developed by third generation twin sisters, Katey and Nicole Bacigalupi. “The only way you would be able to do this type of tasting experience is if you went out and bought all the wines, many of which aren’t available to the general public,” explains Nicole.
“We wanted to give consumers who are fans of the vineyard a unique opportunity,” states Katey Bacigalupi, “very few growers would be able to put on an event like this, and have it include such amazing wineries with such different winemaking styles.”
The selection of wines will range from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, each wine produced by a different winery with a Bacigalupi Vineyard designatation. The goal of the tasting is to show the cohesiveness of wines made from a single vineyard. Each winery the family selected excels in maintaining the
presence of the vineyard but expresses individual winemaking styles.
The event will also feature a varietal food pairing experience by KR Catering.
