+1 on that. There was a flurry of talk when Parker gave the 07 95 points, but other than that they seem to fly under the radar. I’ve been a buyer since the 2000 vintage and never had a bottle that was not outstanding.
Pretty much any WesMar pinot ($36 - $50).
2007 Gerhard Hattenheimer Hassel Riesling Spätlese feinherb. Picked this up couple years ago from Winex for $11!!
One of the best deals ever for me. Great minerality, structure, and acidity rounded by faint sweetness. Bought a case and trying to hang onto a few for the long haul but not easy as they really are a treat now. I also got a few of their kabinett at same time and it is alot sweeter and not nearly as good.
Clos Teddi Patrimonio Tradition (prefer the white to the red) (from Corsica). White made from Vermentino FWIW.
Marcoux is undiscoverd?? Awesome, yes.

I happened across this winery in Healdsburg a couple years ago by accident and fell in love with their Pinots. Their Russian River & Buoncristiani Pinots are my favortites.
Frick Winery

I have a customer that is the brother of the owner, Bill Frick. I bought a few bottles some time back just to give it a whirl and really enjoyed the Syrah and to a lesser extent, their Grenache. I’m not big on Grenache anyway so that wasn’t surprising. Great stuff, great value at around $23 a bottle.
Afraid I don’t really know any undiscovered wines, esp. in Europe.

Based in Oregon, they are starting to get pretty good distribution in the Northwest.
I’ve found the Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and PN Roses most interesting so far. Decent riesling too.
They also import a variety of german wines.
Of course all this depends on your definition of ‘Awesome’. There is quite a variety of opinion in this thread.

'01 Johanna champs de mars-cotes de castillon $20 crazy good claret…the '05 has higher scores but the '01 is better
'07 louis boillot sous la chapelle volnay 1er $37 …broke this out for a pinot buddy, he saw the year and replied “what u don’t like me?” I said “taste it”…he responded back “whoa that is the good stuff” …it crushed a d’angerville '08 volnay I tasted recently.
'07 Michel Sarrazin champs lalot givry…amazing, elegant, soft and subtle seduction, better than many 1ers. $21
Two of my favorite local wineries are Anemoi and Boulder Creek Winery. Good QPR at under $40 for their top of the line red blends. Both can compete with wines from CA at twice their price point. Don’t believe me, let’s get together in Denver or order some for yourself and find out. I just got my allotment of each!
Massena “The Eleventh Hour” 100% Shiraz, Barossa Valley from Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins. Very yummy; the 2006 is very elegant, the ’08 and ’09 are more forward but still very tasty. Very small quantities make it to the US (32 cases for the ’09…14 btls in CT and 12 are mine)
