Awesome and Undiscovered

Share with your Berserker Buddies your hidden gems (if u dare)

2003 Martin Schaetzel Riesling Schlossberg Alsace: This is as good as any Wienbach or Boxler GC in recent memory.

Albert Mann also does a wonderful Schlossberg riesling GC that’s a heck of a deal around $30.

Kruger-Rumpf’s entire Riesling collection in 2009. Outstanding stuff from GG and Kabinett through Auslese.

Karl Lawrence, Maybach, Match and Bedrock [smileyvault-ban.gif]. On a more serious note, Domus Areau from Chile. Incredible stuff. Around $40 or so. WineX has it on occasion.

Just had a glass of 2007 Losado Bierzo Mencia today that, after being open a day, was delicious. Earthy, but not ultra-rustic - great depth to the fruit.

Big Table Farms White Hawk Syrah!!!

What is this Maybach that you speak of…

My discovery of Georg Rafael Cabernet, Napa. Forty dollars never tasted so good.

The Drinkward Peschon I had today was pretty darned good for $60. Also, Keplinger for $45-50, Lageir-Meredith for around $50 are pretty nice and not talked about enough.

Campesino Syrah @ $35

Yeah, never hear anyone talking about this, but it’s a very nice Syrah.

Honig Cab - Mike Honig is a cool dude!

Any Syrah from the White Hawk Vineyard is worthy of mention. [cheers.gif]

Foxen Toasted Rope Syrah. Not undiscovered but rarely if ever discussed on the boards.

Hestan Vineyards Stephanie and Black Kite for its PN.

Wonderful people as well!

The '08 is gorgeous.

Not undiscovered but don’t get the buzz they deserve…
Domaine Gauby… blown away by their '07s.
Domaine de l’Hortus… the '07 Grande Cuvee… $25 bucks and wow!
Domaine Cabirau… Dan Kravitz’s wines and way over deliver.

I was impressed with an inexpensive 2009 Pascual Toso Malbec Reserve at a Malbec tasting last week. Maybe not totally awesome but worth trying.
Digioia-Royer Burgundies are starting to get some attention (Claude Kolm for example) but are still not on everyone’s radar.

I have a three pack en route bc of your previous rec.
