Australia Recs?

Going to be spending 10 days in April. I have never been before and looking for both tourist and winery recommendations. Thanks for any advice.

John - visiting my daughter who will be at the University of Melbourne for a semester. Certainly can arrange transportation/car if necessary.

You have quite a few wine regions within easy driving distance. Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Macedon etc.

Loads of great bars and restaurants in Melbourne too.

I’ll come back when I’m feeling a bit more inspired.

As we have discussed this, we are going to try to be ambitious and head to Alice Springs/Ayer Rock for a few days, Adelaide/Barossa for a few days and then end for a day or two in Sydney before flying back. Any recommendations on a good travel agent/service who could help us plan? Any thoughts on places to stay in each of these areas?
