Attn. Seattle Wine Shoppers

This weekend (beginning Friday at 11 I believe), the Seattle Wine Outlet is having an enormous sale as it closes its SoDo store.

I’ve been to their “Garage Sales” before and have made some amazing purchases. The last one had a lot of classified burgandies, white and red, for prices substantially below msrp. There is plenty of wine being bought for the sale, but apparently everything that was in their regular inventory (which is unpredictable, but typically quite good) is also being marked down for this weekend.

Should be a rare opportunity for the budget minded AND selective wine shopper.

Hope to see you there.

I stopped by when I went out to pick up some lunch today. I couldn’t believe the number of people there, with a huge line up at the register. I’ve gone in a couple times in the past and there are usually tumbleweeds blowing through the place, so I don’t know where all these people are coming from.

Anyway, a few “screaming deals” on wines I’ve never heard of (“was $60, now $19!!!”)… so I have no idea of the quality of the wine or whether it’s actually a deal. Of the labels that I did recognize, most of them didn’t have a sale sticker on them, and the ones that did were maybe 10 or 15% off.

Some of the door buster deals might be worth trying, but I wasn’t willing to wait in line for an hour to have the chance to buy them.
