Unfortunately, Cleveland Park has become a restaurant grave yard. One has to wonder how long Weigandt can survive. When I drove by the other week, I could not believe that a 7-11 had replaced Dino!
I think Weygandt will be ok. I think its a bit of a destination for people who like wine. Plus, people in the area don’t do out, they eat/drink at home.
It’s a shame with the potential of the neighborhood. I lived in Chinatown and would hop on the red line up to the CP and Van Ness stops for Weygandt and Domaine Storage (yeah, let’s not go there). I’d wished there were more bar and restaurant options on that strip of Connecticut. Always had good meals and times at Ripple as well. I’m sure they won’t miss Berg knocking over ice buckets in the middle of the restaurant.
