Arnot Roberts....and Passionfish....

Going to dinner weds at passionfish in Pacific Grove Ca…and am looking to try my first wines from Arnot Roberts, which I’ve been itching to try. Definitely want to try the Trousseau…but what else on their list would be a must?

Arnot Roberts Zinfandel, Kirschenmann Vineyard, Mokelumne River ‘12 12(glass)
Trousseau Arnot Roberts, Luchsinger Vineyard, Clear Lake ’11 41
Cabernet Arnot Roberts, Fellom Ranch, Santa Cruz Mountains ’10 91
Rosé of Touriga Arnot-Roberts, Luchsinger Vineyard, Clear Lake ’11 31
Ribolla Gialla Arnot-Roberts, Vare Vineyards, Napa ’11 51
Arnot Roberts, Chard Trout Gulch Vineyard, Santa Cruz Mountains ‘12 46

Usually hit the Burgs and Champs when we go…but nothing really screams a must with this current list.

Others you see that might be must buys?

Not much A-R Kirschenmann to go around so catch that. If the 2012 Rosé is available it is terrific. Fellom Cab needs time sideways IMO.

Ribolla Gialla is what I’d serve Buzz and would anticipate you would love it.

The 2011 rose is still rocking and well-priced at $31. One of my favorite roses of the last couple years. I liked it better than the 2012.

Goodness we love the 2012 Rosé.

So what is the Ribolla Gialla like Doc? You like the Trousseau? Love those lighter transparent structured floral spiced wines ala Jura! Drinking a
2011 Michel Gahier Trousseau Arbois Grands Vergers as I type!
That Rose’ sounds killer as well…might just have to do ALL of them…and take home the leftovers! [drinkers.gif]

Haven’t tried it yet but the 2012 Rose was terrific.

My wife and I always enjoy Passionfish, and will be there on Friday. Looking forward to it. Hope you have a great time, Buzz.

Passionfish caught my attention. I used to live in Monterey and later in Del Rey Oaks. I think I have only dined at Passionfish once but have enjoyed seafood at other Monterey and Pacific Grove restaurants and love the sand dabs at Sandbar and Grill.

That’s the spirit!
The Ribolla would be great with fish–it has an almost wild grape nose with a hint of sweet but it is dry and mouthwateringly acidic on the palate. The Trousseau is one of my favorite wines. I agree with G about the Cab.

You mean the Zin Scott? How is the Cab btw? What’s considered their flagship?

Buzz…go to Aubergine and drink the DRC!

Ahhhhh…no!

The 93 Rousseau CdL for 300 at Pacific’s Edge did catch my eye?!?!

Remember…wife in tow!

Mine too…but she is preggos, so we couldnt get the DRC.

Which reminds me, it’s a boy - I need to talk to Weinberg and find out where I send the kid in exchange for Tache.

Congrats MK!! So…loading up on future 14 or 15? What’s going to be the wine of choice?

14s - hopefully my “buy” list will be more refined by then!

Baby is coming soon. Wifey wants Salon as her first postbaby glass.

Of course…96 Salon it is! She deserves it! Make sure you give the little one a finger taste as well!!
