Anyone tried this? I did. Casa Dalla Valle 1985 Pinot Noir, Limited Estate Bottling

Mold on top of cork, cork red all the way up. Musty close to TCA but just musty. Balanced earthy a little turbid not sweet or rich, but very substantial. Love this Burgundy. $45 WineBid, worth maybe $65 plus plus. A good buddy with a good Calif palate bought one and did not like it at all. I did, a lot, and I will certainly get more if it’s there again.

And: straining for a comparison, if you like Marcassin you’ll like this lesser version, but this is Dalla Valle estate! Napa, not Sonoma! From their current cab/cab franc estate? If so, my favorite Napa Valley pinot I’ve had, I think.

Cool wine, never knew it existed…pic?
