Not sure if this is most appropriate here or in the Wine Pimps forum or what, but has anyone ever purchased from Dee Vine Wines (http://www.dvw.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)??
They have a 2006 Domaine Rene Leclerc Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combes aux Moines for $18 right now, and it looks like the minimum price on Wine Searcher is around $54.
Are these guys reputable or will I regret taking the bait here.
I’ve bought from them in person. They are on the docks in San Fran and occasionally I have bought while waiting for the ferry. They are pretty much all Riesling, all the time. Never had a problem yet.
Great service. Great wines (I’ve only bought Riesling…and the mag of Le Gay…whoever posted above is fibbing ). Prices aren’t generally cheap, but as you point out here, real bargains can be found.
Call the shop Charlie. Message says “If you’re calling about the Red Burgundies we have on sale; they’re all sold out.”. Or something to that effect. Damned jet lag.
When did you purchase? Did you guys call or go online? Because I am still able to get it online, but as others have mentioned, when you call it says that they are sold out.
