Trick question??

Serious post or really asking?

Anyway, it’s a somewhat famous Italian Cab. CT notes seem to indicate it’s drinking nicely right now:

Someone liked you in 1996!

It’s a terrific wine Casey, I hand carried a six-pack of the 1993 back from Milan in the 90s. Killed the last bottle in 09 I think. You’ll enjoy this.

Casey it is a Bordeaux blend, mainly Cabernet from Tuscany. The producer is Tenuta San Guido as indicated on the bottle. It is one of the original ‘super Tuscan’ wines. Looks like you can buy it in the US for $200-250 these days. Whether it is ‘good’ depends on what you think of it. I have not had this particular vintage, but would not really bother to age this much longer. Crack it open and let us know what you think.

Meh. I’ll send you my address if you want to just clear some cellar space. I’ll cook with it.

Jason

I think it’s Sassicaia.

Drink it and enjoy it!!

I was thinking the same thing given Sassicaia was one of the wines featured in Sideways. I had a fantastic 2006 earlier this year.

Give him a break, guys. People in Mendocino just recently found out there are more cities past Cloverdale.

You really should use Cellar Tracker sometime. [snort.gif]

isnt that the 2nd label of Yellowtail?
:stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for all the comments both constructive and smart assed.

My step daughter has kept this in my cellar as she’s been moving around for many years. We’re going to drink it with her next summer when we go up to Seattle.

I’m not much of a fan of aged Cabs but we’ll give it a go.

Yes, I do know how to use the internet, but usually am checking out reloading data or hunting hot spots. Yes, I could have used CT but thought it would be fun to hear from some folks.

And yes, we Mendocino folks don’t get out much. Doesn’t Southern California begin at Windsor?

One the first European wines that made me say wow. Enjoy.

Yes. Yes it does. Right where The 101 goes through it.

Just like Northern California starts just after Ventura!
