Anyone have a home sparkling / soda maker?

I got me some artisanal tonic - for my gin and tonics.
Wow!!!

That is the only flavor I use. Coke just bought a 10% stake in Green Mountain. Looks like they will come out with a home soda dispenser - with “real” flavors.

We love our sodastream. Got one for each of my kids and they love it too.

Jack Rudy? That stuff is amazing!

If you like homemade tonic, be sure to check out Commonwealth Tonic Liqueur by Bittermens. Gin and tonic will never be the same.

A friend bought a sodastream. I didn’t really care for any of the flavors.

Mark, I’ll have to try that, it looks a bit different than Jack Rudy in that its a liqueur not just a tonic syrup.

The SodaStream flavors are horrible. I use Monin syrups (or no flavor) instead and they are great.

I saw that, poppy. I think I’ll order some for him.

+1 on the Monin syrups. Far superior to SodaStream flavors.

It’s cheaper to buy the water here than use a sodastream.

this… its usually ~5 bottles for $2.00 at the local supermarket…

Can you explain how you make your soda?

I was saying it would seem to be cheaper to buy bottled seltzer at the supermarket… its usually about $0.40 a liter.

I hav had a SodaStream for 3 years now and I love the thing. Their syrups are crap, always use Torani, Williams-Sonoma and Monin syrups to make soda out of the finished sparkling water.

If you are extremely careful, you can also carbonate wine to a light frizzante level with it.
