Anyone else have only one family member that isn’t a total wine geek but appreciates the good bottles you bring to thanksgiving/christmas?

My BIL is high up at a beverage management company and gets great leftover bottles from events so he enjoys and knows good wine. I make sure to bring a good Sauternes and whatever red we drink with dinner.

Our tradition of sitting by the fire, drinking Sauternes, and smoking a bold cigar after every holiday meal is one of my favorites.

I’ve always enjoyed sharing wine with my dad since I got into the industry. May not always ‘get’ everything about it but enjoys the journey. My family has always put a lot of emphasis on travel and experiencing cultures first hand so the cultural side of wines has been a bonding point. They often will reach out to me on trips about wine recommendations that may take their visits up a notch

I love sharing great wines with my family who would be happy with Apothic. Now they turn their nose up at grocery store wines. I’m bringing them around slowly, one holiday at a time!

We’ve done the last couple of Thanksgivings with my cousin and her husband who don’t like wine by love the bottles I bring

Nope

My relatives generally ignore then bottle I bring to thanksgiving in favor of cocktails or beer

I am happy that our Thanksgiving crew has a few people like that. And no cigars.
